Buckingham Palace is The Queen's official residence and was built in 1702. The State Rooms are open to visitors during August and September. Changing the Guard takes place on the forecourt on pre-arranged dates.

The Guards Chapel was bombed in 1944 and re-built in 1963. The Portico which sheltered the Bishop survived and forms part of the re-built structure. There are displays of memorial books, colours and standards.
