- Loire-Atlantique - boasts a 68km coastline dotted with resorts and wide sandy beaches. Nantes is the capital of the département and is the seventh largest city in France, with amazing 18th century buildings and châteaus
- Maine-et-Loire - the Royal Abbey at Fontevraud with it's plantagenet tombs is just one of the attractions that many visitors flock to. Along with the Chateau d'Angers in Angers which houses the world's largest medieval tapestry
- Mayenne - an unspoilt real taste of French countryside which is rich in cultural heritage. The northern part of the département is a haven of hills and forests and to the south you have the Château Gontier which is by the Mayenne river
- Sarthe - many visitors come to this area for two reasons to see the Abbey of Solesmes and the main attraction, the 24 hour race in Le Mans which is held every June, you also have the Musee de L'Automobile which houses it's collection of race winners up until the present day
- Vendée - with a wild and sandy coastline, it is an ideal location for coastal walks, sea-fishing and other activities such as kayaking and surfing. For sun-seekers who like peaceful sandy beaches they should head to Noirmoutier, which is also known for it's charm and pretty houses
