London Stansted is Britain's third busiest airport, serving 22.8 million passengers a year. Many leading low-cost scheduled airlines have made Stansted their base. Stansted has been identified as the preferred location for the first new runway in the south-east for over 50 years. BAA Stansted has taken on the challenge of planning to have that runway in operation by 2013.
