The Spanish Regions

  • Aragon-Catalonia - offering the grandiose city of Barcelona with its' array of architecture and culture, the magnificent Pyrenees, coastal resorts and its very own dialect
  • Balearic Islands - there are four principle Islands in the Balearics; Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentara. These islands offer a variety of large coastal resorts to small sandy coves, large tourist filled towns to quiet relatively untouched towns
  • Basque-Navarre-Rioja - a green hilly region with rocky coves, beaches, small fishing towns and wooded hills with tiny villages. Vineyards that sweep the hillside and produce fruit for the infamous Rioja. Visit Pamplona in July for the notorious bull running fiesta
  • Canary Islands - with seven main islands, situated west of Morocco, the more well known of the islands being Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuertaventura which all have individual character
  • Central Spain - there are many attractive places to explore in the region even though much of the central region is dry and dusty. Central Spain's mountains, forests and lakes are full of wildlife, and there is plenty to see and do in Madrid
  • Northern Spain - scenic coast with sandy beaches and green landscapes. The magnificent cathedral of Santiago de Compostella attracts many pilgrims and tourists each year
  • Southern Spain - from trendy Marbella with its exclusive marina, some of the best golf courses in Europe, National parks, the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, pretty whitewashed towns to old Roman architecture, this is Spain's most varied region
  • Western Spain - the most remote region from the modern world, full of beautifully unspoilt towns, with their original charm and slow paced lifestyle
  • Eastern Spain - offers some of Spain's most popular coastal resorts, Costa Cálida, Costa Blanca and Costa Del Azahar. Valencia and Murcia are lively university cities with magnificent cathedrals and make a wonderful change of pace from the coast
