Drombeg Stone Circle

Stone Circle of 17 stones dates from about the beginning of the Christian era. In the center of the circle were found the burned remains of a human body, and a short distance to the west the remains of two round huts; these have been dated to the second-fourth century A.D.

Gallarus Oratory

Gallarus Oratory was built between the seventh and eight century and is the best preserved early Christian church in Ireland. It represents the apogee of dry-stone corbelling, using techniques first developed by Neolithic tomb-makers.
