Scottish BordersThe borderlands spanning the English/Scottish border are peppered with ancient castles and stately homes. Famous for being producers of fine woollen garments, visit the Hawick Cashmere Visitors Centre see how the garments are made. Historic Jedburgh is well worth a visit, particularly the atmospheric Abbey founded in 1138 by King David I.
