Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume

The Jeu de Paume was built originally as a court for palm tennis (known as the jeu de paume). It was remodelled by Antoine Stinco when lawn tennis became more popular and now houses exhibitions of contemporary art.

Hôtel Guénégaud,

The Hotel de Guénégaud was built by Francois Mansart, between 1651 and 1655, for the royal treasurer François de Guénégaud. It then became the property of the family of Thirioux Epersenne. Now it houses the Museum of Hunting and Nature.

Orangeries were popular among the royal and aristocratic of the 17th and 18th centuries. The Orangerie des Tuileries was built in 1852 and is situated in the southwest corner of the Tuileries Gardens. It contains paintings from Monet, Soutine and Cezanne.

Opened in about 1880, this museum is devoted to French monumental art. It was the inspiration of Eugène Viollet-Le-Duc, who restored Notre-Dame in the 19th century.

Musée National Picasso

Musée Rodin

Auguste Rodin, widely regarded as the greatest 19th century French sculptor, lived and worked in the Hôtel Biron. When he died, in return for an apartment, he donated his works to the state, which are displayed here.
