Abbaye de Jumièges

Dating back to the 11th century, it was the tallest church in Normandy and is a fine example of Romanesque and neo-gothic art. You can also visit the abbey at night at witness a spectacular lightshow.

Abbaye du Mont Saint Michel

One of the most famous medieval constructions in France, and a very important Christian pilgrimage location. The abbey has the best views of the bay and surrounding area and is particularly spectacular at night with a light and music show.

A Benedictine abbey dating back to the 12th century. The chapter has a fine collection of statues and the convent building still has its original stone ceiling. The gardens consist of the kitchen garden, the orchard and flower beds.

American National Cemetery

Overlooking Omaha Beach, this is the cemetery that featured in the opening and closing scenes of "Saving Private Ryan". The neat rows of headstones, immaculately manicured grounds and reflective pool make a significant, and often emotional, impression on the visitor.

Batterie d'Azeville

A German coastal battery that was part of the Atlantic Wall. There are numerous tunnels, casemates and buildings to explore. Along with the St Marcouf battery, the guns here were still firing two days after the initial D-Day invasion.

Part of the Atlantic Wall, this German gun battery is the only one which has kept its original guns, giving you a real feel for what it was like back in 1944.

Caen Château

Dating back to the 11th century, Caen Castle was begun by William the Conqueror and is one of the most imposing buildings in the city. The castle has a series of exhibitions open to the public.

Café des Tribunaux

The café was built as an inn towards the end of the seventeenth century, and briefly became Dieppe's town hall after the previous one was bombarded by the British in 1694.

The chateau contains memorabilia of the Marquis de Miromesnil and the writer Guy de Maupassant. Within the grounds in a wonderful kitchen garden and chapel.

The château is now an arts centre known for its large exhibitions. Also within the site is a 17th century dovecote and a park with sculptures created by some of the best contemporary artists.

Chateau Musee de Dieppe

This restored castle houses a fine collection of ivory objects and a good selection of paintings of local scenes.

Cité de la Mer

Église Saint-Jean
