Montparnasse OverviewEurope's second tallest building, the Tour Montparnasse, dominates this chic area of Paris. In the early 1900's Montparnasse was a potent mix of cutting edge artists such as Picasso and angry young writers like Hemmingway. Now Montparnasse is all about chic and sophisticated living.   • Tour Montparnasse - standing 690' high and made of curved steep and smoked glass, the Tour Montparnasse is a very smart office building
  • La Closerie des Lilas - this famous café was frequented by Lenin, Trotsky, Hemingway and Scott Fitzgerald
  • Musee Antoine Bourdelle - the prolific sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, lived and worked in the studio here from 1884 until his death
  • Place du 18 Juin 1940 - this famous square's name comes from the date of General de Gaulle's broadcast to the Resistance
