Metro Centre

Metro Centre NewcastleWhilst in North East England a visit to the Metro Centre is a must for a great day out with shopping, entertainment and numerous restaurants. It is Europe's largest shopping and leisure centre, located in Gateshead, three miles south west of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Shopaholics will be in heaven here with over 300 shops including major department stores and smaller independent shops grouped in themed areas, namely The Forum, The Studio, The Village and Garden Court.

When it's time for a well earned break relax in one of the 50 restaurants, most are open late into the evening so you can plan what entertainments you wish to visit. These include an 11 screen cinema, a Megabowl Entertainment Centre offering 20 lanes of computerised ten pin bowling and Quasar - a laser game for all the family to enjoy.

If you are looking for family entertainment then head straight for MetroLand, an indoor theme park with a rollercoaster, Pirate Ship, Waveswinger and much more to give your family an exciting days adventure.

The Metro Centre also has a full events program with promotions, continental markets and visits from the centres colourful theme characters, the MetroGnomes.
