Louvre OverviewAbsolutely in the centre of Paris, the Louvre area is the perfect base from which to explore this marvellous city. The sparking pyramid is a perfect foil to the grand architecture of the Louvre housing some of the worlds finest art and sculptures. Located on the banks of the Seine there are wonderful gardens just a stroll along the banks, fabulous momuments and much more to see in the vibrant heart of Paris.


Louvre Area Highlights

  • Musée du Louvre - has over 300,000 works of art including the famous Mona Lisa
  • Place des Pyramides - a small colonnaded square featuring an equestrian statue of Joan of Arc in gilded bronze
  • Pont Neuf - Pont Neuf, or New Bridge is in fact the oldest bridge in Paris, founded in 1578
  • Comédie Française - the only theatre in France run by the state and one of the few to have its own troupe of actors
  • Cour de Rohan - once part of the Parisian residence of the Archbishops of Rouen
