Lotherton Hall has a collection of furniture, painting, ceramics and costumes. There are organised activities, events and exhibitions. The gardens are a fine example of an Edwardian garden with woodland and red deer.

The Middleton Railway claims to be the oldest railway in the world. You can view locomotives and ride on the passenger service over approximately 1 mile of track to Park Halt on the outskirts of Middleton Park.

Thwaite Mill Museum is one of the last remaining water-powered mills in Britain. It has been fully restored and tours to view the working, water powered machines can be booked in advance.
