Harz Mountains Tourist Information and Visitor Guide
Dense forests and rugged mountains characterise the northerly mountain range in Germany. Wild animals flourish in the more remote areas whilst colourful market towns nestle in the valleys. Bubbling streams gambole down rocky gullys before emptying themselves into hidden lakes. In winter, the Harz Mountains become one vast ski resort with some of the best snow in Europe.
