The Expressionist painter August Macke lived in this Classical house on the Borheimer with his family from 1911 onwards. His studio is to be found in the attic: this is the place where over 350 of his works originated.

Situated in the buildings of the former Augustinian Monastery. The museum houses a collection of art and artefacts from religious buildings, such as stained glass, gargoyles and statues. Most of the collection comes from Freiburg's Munster.

Situated on the outskirts of the city, this church was built in the 1970's. The modern, pyramid shaped church is well worth a visit, with it's light, transparent apparence, that offers peace and tranquility in its own unique way.

The Zoo and Botanical Gardens were created by King Wilhelm I, with many of the buildings being inspired by the Moorish architecture of southern Spain. The Zoo is famous for it's monkeys, as they have four different species living in family groups which were all hand-reared. The Botanical Gardens house a plant collection of 5,000 species which change with the seasons.
