- North East England - has a remote coastline and the remains of Hadrian's Wall, which provide a stark contrast with the lively city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumbria's commercial capital
- The East of England - encompasses the wide open spaces and uncrowded coastline of Suffolk and Norfolk, as well as the bustling university city of Cambridge
