County Durham Cottages

Centrally located on a 360 acre working farm these four barn conversions have been carefully renovated to preserve much of their original character. Guests can enjoy well furnished, comfortable accommodation with modern amenities.

Eastcroft is a charming miner’s cottage for 4-6 people, renovated to a high standard but still retaining old country charm, an ideal place to relax in the dramatic North Pennines.

Hamsterley is the ideal retreat, situated as it is amidst beautiful farmland and woods, with the moors and fells of the Northern Pennines within sight and easy distance. Hamsterley Cottage sleeps 4 with fully fitted kitchen, washing machine and tumble dryer, TV, DVD, log burning stove, double glazing and rear garden.

Hillside Cottage lies in the heart of the historic village of Ireshopeburn. It is a cosy two hundred year old, two bedroomed terraced cottage overlooking the River Wear. The lounge/diner comes complete with open fire, TV, video and DVD player, and there is a fully equipped kitchen.

A beautiful, 17th Century grade 2 listed character cottage centrally located for both the historic city of Durham and the pretty market town of Barnard Castle and Teesdale. All rooms have been tastefully furnished and have a nostalgic feel to them. There is a small raised garden to the rear with patio.

Low Cornriggs is a traditional working hill farm, parts of which date back over 200 years. Bedrooms are comfortable and large with wonder full views, all of which have their own character and are well equipped. This is an excellent area for cycling, and near to the C to C and many other cycling routes.

Oak Cottage is the home of Kim & Mike Foreman having semi-retired from the 4 star coach house in Beamish (35 yrs). We have had so many regular guests asking if we were to continue with our guest accommodation that we have decided to operate one spacious "cosy en-suite" either as a double or twin.

Plawsworth Hall Cottages and Apartments are situated between Durham and Chester-Le-Street allowing easy access to the regions business centres and places of interest. Fully furnished 1 and 2 bedroom apartments to the highest standards so guests benefit from a home from home experience.

The cottages 1/2 bedroom cottages are within easy walking distance of the Cathedral, Castle, Bus and Rail stations although a connecting bus operates from the coach park 200m away. The cottages have no garden to the front but a large garden to the rear which guest have full use of.

This comfortable stone built cottage enjoys magnificent South facing panoramic views over open countryside from the North Yorkshire Moors to the Pennines. The village, which is just 7 miles from Barnard Castle, has a well-stocked shop, post office and pub all within walking distance.
