Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza 2-4 May 2009
The wonderful Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno on the North Wales coast is celebrating its roots with an Extravaganza of Victoriana.
Shop windows will reflect those long lost days of cluttered rooms, dark furniture and elaborate lamps and ornaments. Once again impossibly corseted ladies will walk the promenade in pavement-sweeping dresses and demure bonnets whilst the menfolk strut up and down in top hats and buttoned-up waistcoats swinging their canes with panache.
There is plenty of entertainment planned including stilt-walkers, magicians and fire-eaters. There will be a traditional Victorian Variety Show, Punch and Judy and some authentic Victorian Circus Side-Shows in addition to a traditional Fun Fair.
A daily parade of Victorian vehicles ranging from traction engines to very early cars, marching bands and suited and booted townsfolk keeps the Victorian mood going.
