Autumn Colours at Westonbirt Arboretum

If you are planning an Autumn break in the Cotswolds, you must include the Autumn spectacles at Westonbirt, the National Arboretum. A visit here can be combined with a stay in the old market town and popular tourist destination of Tetbury nearby. Westonbirt’s 600 acres are home to trees from all over the world and from Mid-October into November, Britain’s largest collection of Japanese Maples are a riot of colour. Also, at this time of year, the Persian Ironwoods and American Smoke Bushes are at their colourful best.

There are several hotels in Tetbury, the nearest town to Tetbury, where the Cotswold stone buildings house a fascinating range of shops, restaurants and bars.
